Nature & Iwagumi

Inspired by Takashi Amano, nature aquascapes mimic landscapes with stone and wood. Iwagumi is a minimalist stone-only style using an odd number of rocks and a carpet of low plants — serene and disciplined.

Dutch & Jungle

The Dutch style is a lush flower-bed of densely planted, contrasting stem plants in tidy rows. The jungle style is wilder and lower-maintenance — big, overgrown plants left to ramble for a natural look.

Biotope

A biotope recreates a specific real-world habitat — say an Amazon stream with leaf litter, driftwood, and only fish and plants native to it. It's the most educational and authentic style.

FAQ

What is the easiest aquascaping style?
The jungle style — dense, hardy plants left to grow naturally hide equipment, resist algae, and forgive mistakes, making it the most beginner-friendly.
